About Dargah: In New Delhi is found the Dargah of the Indian mystic and musician Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927). A Dargah is the tomb of a Sufi Saint. It is a place for contemplation and meditation. Also many social and cultural activities take place at the Dargah. The activities are focused on the development and the welfare of the people who work and live in the quarter and elsewhere. This work is done with financial support from friends and interested people.
The Dargah is situated in the Basti Nizamuddin, an old quarter that originated in the thirteenth century around the burial place of the Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. A new spiritual center has emerged in the last decades near the Dargah of Inayat Khan. People from all continents come to this place for inspiration and meditation. It is a serene oasis amidst the busy city life.
